How to manage Home page settings across multiple events
The Home page settings in Cadence allow you to create consistent experiences across your events portfolio. Through the Home Menu's Settings tab, you can configure layout options, visual elements, and interactive features that define how your Home pages appear to attendees. By establishing standard configurations and applying them systematically, you can maintain brand consistency while efficiently managing multiple events.
When to use
When standardizing the appearance of multiple events
When implementing brand guidelines across your event portfolio
When creating templates for different event types
When updating the look and feel of multiple events simultaneously
Before you start
You need Event Manager or Administrator permissions to modify Home page settings.
How to do it
Create a configuration document listing your standard Home page settings for different event types.
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your first event dashboard.
Click on "Home" in the left sidebar menu.
Select the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
Configure your layout settings:
Choose a column layout from the "Columns (Web Only)" dropdown
Select an alignment option from the "Alignment (Web Only)" dropdown
Set visual elements according to your brand standards:
Check or uncheck "Remove Home Tile Overlay"
Enable or disable "Display Scroll bar on Home Tiles"
Removing the tile overlay may affect readability if your tile images have varying colors or contrast.
Configure the countdown timer if it aligns with your event strategy:
Check "Enable Countdown Timer" if desired
Select either "use event start date" or "use custom date time"
Decide on header display by checking or unchecking "Hide event name, date & location display over the Home image."
Enable Live Video Tile if you'll be using Symphony for live streaming across your events.
Live Video Tile works best with "Two Columns" or "Two Rows" layouts and requires Symphony to be configured with video content.
Adjust background opacity if needed:
Check "Gradient Slider Adjust Home Screen Opacity"
Use the slider to set a consistent opacity percentage
Click "Save" to apply your settings to this event.
Document your settings in your configuration document for future reference.
Repeat steps 3-12 for each additional event, referring to your configuration document.
Take screenshots of your settings for visual reference when configuring multiple events.
Review all events periodically to ensure settings remain consistent with your standards.
Troubleshooting
If your saved settings aren't appearing consistently across events, verify that you've clicked "Save" after making changes to each event and refresh your browser cache.
