Optimize the Registration Form for Different Device Types

The Registration Form in Cadence allows you to create a responsive registration experience that works well across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Through the Registration Menu › Form section, you can configure layout options that ensure your registration form displays properly and remains user-friendly regardless of the device your attendees use to register.

When to use

  • When your event attendees will register using various devices
  • When you notice mobile users abandoning the registration process
  • When your registration form includes complex elements like tables or images
  • When you need to prioritize content differently for mobile users

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify registration form settings.

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "Registration" from the left sidebar menu.
Click on the "Form" tab at the top of the page.
Ensure "Enable Registration Form" is toggled on.
Disabling this setting will remove the registration form from your event's registration process.
Review your current form questions with mobile users in mind.
Keep question text concise and avoid lengthy instructions that require excessive scrolling on small screens.
Replace multiple-choice questions that have many options with dropdown menus.
Break up long forms into logical sections using section headers.
Section headers create visual breaks that make forms more manageable on smaller screens.
Navigate to the "Website Builder" tab in the secondary navigation.
    Select "Layout" from the options.
Scroll to the "Mobile Layout" section.
Reorder content elements by dragging them to create a logical flow for mobile users.
Place the most important information (event details, registration button) at the top, followed by supporting content.
Remove duplicate registration buttons if present to avoid confusion.
Ensure event content appears before location details and app download buttons.
Preview your changes by clicking the "Preview" button and testing on different devices.
Click "Save" at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.

Troubleshooting

If your registration form appears incorrectly on mobile devices after saving changes, check that you haven't included any custom HTML or CSS that might override the responsive design settings.
