How to sort rooms alphabetically or in custom order
Sort Rooms Alphabetically or in Custom Order
The Rooms menu in Cadence allows you to control how rooms are displayed in the appointment booking interface and room selection dropdowns. Through the Rooms Menu › Settings section, you can choose between alphabetical sorting (default) or a custom order that you define, making it easier for users to find the most important or frequently used rooms.
When to use
When you want to prioritize certain rooms in selection lists
When organizing rooms by importance rather than alphabetically
When grouping similar rooms together in the interface
When creating a logical flow for room selection
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify room sort order settings.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Event Setup" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Rooms" from the dropdown menu.
Click the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
Choose a sort order from the "Sort By" dropdown:
Alphabetical Order (default)
Custom Order
Select "Alphabetical Order" if you want rooms to be automatically sorted by name.
Alphabetical sorting is the default option and requires no additional configuration.
Select "Custom Order" if you want to manually arrange rooms in a specific sequence.
Custom ordering is particularly useful when you want to prioritize certain rooms or group them by location or purpose.
Use the drag handles (six dots) to reorder rooms when Custom Order is selected.
Changes to room order are not saved automatically. You must click the Save button to apply your changes.
Click "Save" to apply your settings changes.
Verify your changes by checking the room order in the appointment booking interface.
Troubleshooting
If your custom room order is not appearing in the appointment booking interface, ensure that you've clicked the "Save" button after arranging the rooms in your desired order.
