How to Preview How Color Themes Will Appear in Your Event
The Color Theme settings allow you to customize the visual appearance of your event by applying colors that cascade across the entire event experience. Before finalizing your color choices, it's helpful to preview how they will appear in your event's web interface and mobile apps to ensure they match your brand and create the desired user experience.
When to use
When selecting colors for a new event
When updating the color scheme of an existing event
When you need to verify how custom colors will display across different features
Before presenting your event to stakeholders or attendees
How to do it
Navigate to the Admin site for your event.
Select Event Setup from the main navigation menu.
Click on Color Theme in the left sidebar menu.
Choose your desired color theme option (Default Color, Custom Color, or Advanced Colors).
If using Custom Color, click on the color box to open the color picker and select your desired color.
You can enter a specific hex code (e.g., #FF5733) in the color picker to match your exact brand colors.
If using Advanced Colors, configure individual colors for each feature.
Click "Apply Color to All" to save your changes.
Open a new browser tab and navigate to your event's user-facing website.
Refresh the page to see your new color theme applied.
Navigate through different menu items to verify the color appears consistently.
Check both standard menu items and any custom menu items you've created, as custom items may require additional verification.
Test on mobile devices by opening your event in the Cadence mobile app to ensure colors display properly across platforms.
If you don't have immediate access to the mobile app, you can use responsive design mode in your browser's developer tools to approximate the mobile view.
Return to the Admin site to make any necessary adjustments if the colors don't appear as expected.
Troubleshooting
If custom menu items don't display your selected color theme correctly, verify that you've clicked "Apply Color to All" after making your color selections. Some custom menu items may require additional configuration to properly display custom colors.
