Understand the Default Schedule Labels and Terminology

The Schedule Labels section in Cadence allows you to customize key terminology used throughout your event's schedule interface. Located in the Schedule Menu › Labels area, these customization options help create a more intuitive experience for attendees by using terminology that matches your organization's preferred language or event type.

When to use

  • When your organization uses specific terminology for schedule components
  • When creating industry-specific events with unique session classifications
  • When standardizing terminology across multiple events for consistency
  • When localizing your event for different regions or languages
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify schedule labels. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Schedule" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Labels" from the submenu that appears.
Review the default labels that can be customized:
  • Track (used for categorizing schedule items)
  • Location (used for indicating where sessions take place)
  • Speaker (used for identifying session presenters)
Toggle the switch next to "Override Track label" to enable customization.
Common alternatives for "Track" include "Stream," "Path," "Category," or "Theme."
Toggle the switch next to "Override Location label" to enable customization.
Common alternatives for "Location" include "Room," "Venue," or "Meeting Space."
Toggle the switch next to "Override Speaker label" to enable customization.
Common alternatives for "Speaker" include "Presenter," "Facilitator," "Instructor," or industry-specific terms like "Golfer" or "Performer."
Enter your preferred terminology in each enabled field.
Custom labels will appear on web and mobile apps but will continue to show the original labels in the admin interface.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
The system will not save if any required fields are incomplete.

Troubleshooting

If your custom labels aren't appearing in the mobile app, ensure you're using the latest version of the Cadence app (v2.7.387 for iOS or v2.7.387 for Android) and try refreshing your event data.
