How to configure maximum selections for schedule items

Configure Maximum Selections for Schedule Items

The Schedule Registration feature in Cadence allows you to set limits on how many schedule items attendees can select during event registration. Through the Registration Menu › Schedule section, you can configure maximum selection requirements to prevent attendees from registering for too many sessions, helping you manage capacity and ensure balanced attendance across your event activities.

When to use

  • When you need to limit the number of sessions each attendee can register for
  • When managing events with limited capacity sessions
  • When you want to ensure fair distribution of attendance across sessions
  • When preventing attendees from overcommitting to too many activities

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify registration settings.

How to do it

    Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
    Click on "People" in the left sidebar menu.
    Select "Registration" from the submenu that appears.
    Click on the "Schedule" tab at the top of the page.
    Toggle "Allow Schedule Selection During Event Registration" to enable this feature.
Disabling this setting will remove the schedule selection option from your event's registration process.
    Check the "Maximum Selections" box to limit how many schedule items attendees can select.
    Enter the maximum number of allowed selections in the field that appears.
Leave this field blank if you want to allow unlimited selections.
    Consider whether to also set a minimum selection requirement based on your event needs.
    Click "Save" to apply your changes.
The system will display a brief "Saved" confirmation when your settings are successfully applied.

Troubleshooting

If attendees report being able to select more items than the maximum limit:
  • Verify that the same schedule item isn't appearing in multiple tracks or sections
  • Check that the maximum selection setting is properly saved and applied
  • Ensure that schedule items have registration enabled in their individual settings
