When reviewing leads in the Matching section, you may encounter leads that don't match any existing customer profiles. Converting these leads to new customer profiles helps maintain a complete database of all your contacts. This process is available from the Leads Menu › Matching section when reviewing potential matches.
When to use
When a lead has no matching customer profiles in your database
When you need to create a new customer record from lead information
When you want to ensure complete follow-up with all event contacts
When organizing post-event engagement activities
Customer Matching must be enabled in your event settings to access this feature.
How to do it
Navigate to the Leads section in your Cadence dashboard.
Select the "Matching" tab at the top of the screen.
Click on a lead with "Ready for Match" status to review potential matches.
Review the suggested customer profiles to confirm no match exists.
Click the "Create New Customer" button at the bottom of the matching screen.
Before creating a new customer, double-check that the lead doesn't match any existing profiles by using partial name searches or checking alternative email domains.
Review the pre-populated customer information from the lead data.
Complete any additional required fields marked with an asterisk (*).
Creating a duplicate customer profile can lead to fragmented engagement history. Always search thoroughly before creating a new profile.
Select appropriate customer categories or tags if applicable.
Click "Save" to create the new customer profile.
Verify the lead now shows as "Matched" in your leads list.
Click on the lead to see the newly created customer profile in the "Matched Customer" section.
Troubleshooting
If the "Create New Customer" button is not visible:
Verify you have sufficient permissions to create customer profiles
Ensure Customer Matching is enabled in your event settings
Check that you've selected a lead with "Ready for Match" status
