How to add speaker biographies and credentials

Add Speaker Biographies and Credentials

The Speakers feature in Cadence allows you to enhance presenter profiles with detailed biographical information and professional credentials. From the Speakers Menu, you can add comprehensive biographies, educational background, certifications, and areas of expertise to help attendees learn about your speakers and their qualifications.

When to use

  • When creating detailed speaker profiles for your event
  • When highlighting speaker expertise and credentials
  • When providing attendees with speaker background information
  • When showcasing speaker qualifications for specific sessions
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to edit speaker profiles. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

How to do it

    Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
    Click on "Speakers" in the left sidebar menu.
If you don't see the Speakers option, you may need to enable it first through Event Setup › Menu.
    Locate the speaker whose biography you want to add or edit in the speakers list.
    Click on the speaker's name to open their profile.
    Scroll to the description field (biography section).
    Enter a comprehensive biography including:
  • Professional background
  • Areas of expertise
  • Notable achievements
  • Educational credentials
  • Certifications or specializations
The biography field supports HTML formatting for creating more structured content.
    Add the speaker's title and company information in the designated fields.
    Include relevant credentials after the speaker's name if appropriate (MD, PhD, etc.).
    Update social media links to professional profiles like LinkedIn.
    Add the speaker to relevant schedule items by clicking "Add Schedule Item."
Assign speakers to schedule items that align with their expertise to create a more cohesive program.
    Upload supporting materials like CVs or publications by clicking "Add Resource."
    Click "Save" to apply your changes.
The system will not save if required fields are incomplete.

Troubleshooting

If formatted text in the biography appears incorrectly on the attendee-facing speaker profile, try simplifying the HTML formatting or using plain text with basic formatting elements only.
