Set Up Legal Disclaimer Check-in Requirements

The Schedule Settings page in Cadence allows you to configure legal disclaimer requirements for schedule item check-ins. By enabling this feature in the Schedule Menu › Settings section, you can require attendees to acknowledge terms or agreements before being marked as checked in for sessions, ensuring proper documentation of consent for compliance or legal purposes.

When to use

  • When legal acknowledgments or terms need to be accepted before session participation
  • When documenting attendee consent is required for compliance purposes
  • When tracking acceptance of specific terms for different schedule items
  • When creating an audit trail of legal acknowledgments

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to configure legal disclaimer check-in settings. This feature works best when used with the Cadence mobile app.

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "Schedule" from the left sidebar menu.
Click the "Settings" tab at the top of the Schedule page.
Scroll down to the check-in configuration section.
Toggle "Enable Standard Attendee Check-in" to ON if not already enabled.
Legal disclaimer check-in requires the standard check-in feature to be enabled first.
Toggle "Enable Legal Disclaimer Check-in" to ON to activate the disclaimer requirement.
Once enabled, attendees will be required to review and accept a disclaimer before completing check-in for any schedule item.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Navigate to a specific schedule item to customize the disclaimer text.
Select a schedule item from your schedule list.
Click the "Options" tab within the schedule item details.
Toggle "Override Check-In Configurations" if you want this item to have a unique disclaimer.
Use this option when different schedule items require different legal language or terms.
Toggle "Enable Legal Disclaimer Check-in" for this specific schedule item.
Click "Edit Disclaimer" to customize the text.
Enter your legal disclaimer text in the editor.
Consider having your legal team review the content before publishing to ensure it meets all compliance requirements.
Click "Save" to apply your disclaimer text.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter an error when editing the disclaimer text, verify that you've properly enabled the legal disclaimer check-in option at both the event level and for the specific schedule item.
