Handle Multilingual Events When Customizing Labels
The Schedule Labels section in Cadence allows you to customize key terminology used throughout your event's schedule interface for multilingual audiences. Located in the Schedule Menu › Labels area, this feature helps create a more inclusive experience for international attendees by implementing language-specific terminology for Track, Location, and Speaker fields while maintaining consistency across translations.
When to use
When hosting international events with attendees who speak different languages
When localizing your event for specific regions or markets
When implementing translation services alongside custom labels
When creating a consistent multilingual navigation experience
Before you start
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify schedule labels. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*). Weglot integration should be enabled in Event Setup › Integrations for website translations.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Schedule" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Labels" from the submenu that appears.
Determine your primary language for label customization.
Choose the language most commonly used by your attendees as your primary language for custom labels.
Toggle the switches for the labels you want to customize (Track, Location, Speaker).
Enter your primary language terminology in each enabled field.
Custom labels will appear on web and mobile apps but will continue to show the original labels in the admin interface.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Navigate to "Event Setup" › "Integrations" in the left sidebar menu.
Enable Weglot language translations by checking the appropriate box.
App translation is not supported with the Weglot integration, only website translations.
Enter your Weglot API key in the designated field.
Click "Save" to apply your integration settings.
Create a terminology reference document listing all custom labels in each supported language.
Share this document with your translation team to ensure consistent terminology across all languages.
Test the translation experience by viewing your event website in different languages.
Verify that custom labels appear correctly in all supported languages.
Troubleshooting
If your custom labels aren't appearing correctly in translated versions, ensure your Weglot account is properly configured with custom translations for your specific label terms. Mobile app users will only see labels in the primary language as app translation is not supported.
