How to customize welcome messages for event attendees
Customize Welcome Messages for Event Attendees
The Onboarding menu in Cadence allows you to create personalized welcome messages with video content that attendees see when first accessing your event. From the Onboarding › Video section, you can add an engaging video introduction and customize the header text to create a more welcoming first impression.
Before you start
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify onboarding settings.
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Select "Onboarding" from the left sidebar menu.
Click on the "Video" tab at the top of the page.
Toggle the "Add Video to Onboarding" option to enable video content.
Enter your desired header text in the "Header Text" field.
Keep your header concise and welcoming, such as "Welcome to [Event Name]!" or "We're excited to see you!"
Upload your welcome video by clicking the upload button or selecting from your media library.
Video materials added via embedded code, YouTube or Vimeo URL are not supported on mobile apps for playback within onboarding.
Preview how your video will appear by clicking the "Preview" button if available.
Make adjustments to your content based on the preview.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Test the welcome video by resetting onboarding for a test user account.
To test, go to the "Reset Onboarding" tab, search for a test user, and click "Reset Onboarding" next to their name.
Troubleshooting
If attendees report not seeing the welcome video:
Verify that the "Add Video to Onboarding" toggle is enabled
Check that the video file format is supported (MP4 is recommended)
Ensure the video file size is under the platform limit
