What happens if we switch an account to the ICS model while active events have appointments?

Implications of Switching to ICS

If an account is switched from the subscription model to the ICS model while active events have appointments, all previously sent calendar subscriptions for internal attendees will disappear from their calendars. This is because the subscription model delivers appointments through a live calendar feed, which is removed once the setting is switched.
Customers, however, are not affected since they always receive calendar invites as ICS files.

Steps to Mitigate Impact

To ensure that internal attendees regain their calendar invites, follow these steps before switching to the ICS model:
    Download a Current Report
  • Export a list of all Pending and Confirmed appointments.
    Reset Attendee Statuses
  • For Confirmed internal attendees, change their status back to Pending.
    Resend Invitations
  • Bulk trigger the Resend Invites email for all internal attendees.
    Confirm the Switch with Account Lead
  • Before proceeding, confirm the switch with the customer account lead to ensure all necessary steps have been taken.
By following these steps, internal attendees will receive new ICS invites and maintain their calendar visibility for all scheduled appointments.
