Resolve Common Registration Form Error Messages
The Registration Form in Cadence occasionally displays error messages that can prevent attendees from completing their registration. This guide helps you identify and resolve the most common error messages that appear during the registration process, ensuring a smooth experience for your attendees.
When to use
When attendees report error messages during registration
When you notice incomplete registrations in your event metrics
When testing your registration form before launching your event
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to troubleshoot registration form issues.
How to do it
Access your event's registration form settings.
Navigate to "People" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Registration" from the submenu.
Click on the "Form" tab at the top of the page.
Review the error message reported by the attendee.
Ask attendees to take screenshots of error messages when possible to help with troubleshooting.
Check for required fields that may be missing values.
Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*) and must be completed before registration can be submitted.
Verify that dropdown or multiple-choice questions have valid selections.
If a user selects and then deselects an option in a required dropdown field, it may appear selected visually but register as empty in the system.
Examine any fields with validation rules (email format, phone numbers, etc.).
Test the registration form yourself to reproduce the error.
Clear the attendee from the registration list if they're stuck in a partial registration state.
After removing the attendee, ask them to reload the page and attempt registration again.
Check for non-breaking spaces or special characters in form descriptions.
Non-breaking spaces in description fields can sometimes cause submission errors.
Save any changes you make to the form configuration.
Troubleshooting
If attendees continue to experience errors:
Have them try registering in a different web browser
Check if the error occurs only on certain devices or platforms
For persistent issues with specific questions, consider recreating those questions
If a user is stuck in an error loop, remove them from the attendee list and have them register again with a fresh session
