How to resolve common display issues with Home tiles
The Home page in Cadence serves as the central hub for your event, but sometimes tiles may not display correctly due to layout issues, image problems, or configuration settings. This article guides you through troubleshooting common display problems that occur in the Home Menu's Settings section, ensuring your event's Home page looks professional and functions properly for all attendees.
When to use
When Home tiles appear grayed out or have loading issues
When text on tiles is difficult to read
When tiles aren't displaying in the expected layout
When content appears differently across web and mobile platforms
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Home" in the left sidebar menu.
Select the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
Fix grayed-out tiles by checking your internet connection and refreshing the page.
Tiles may appear grayed out temporarily during loading, especially on slower connections.
Resolve text readability issues by adjusting the overlay settings:
Uncheck "Remove Home Tile Overlay" to restore the gray overlay for better text contrast
Increase the opacity percentage using the "Opacity (%)" slider to at least 30%
Correct layout problems by selecting an appropriate column layout:
Choose "Single Column" or "Two Columns" for most reliable display across devices
Avoid "Single Row" if you have more than 6 tiles to prevent excessive horizontal scrolling
Address mobile display inconsistencies by understanding platform differences:
Remember that column and alignment settings only affect web display
Verify your changes on both web and mobile platforms after saving
Fix missing countdown timer by checking these settings:
Ensure "Enable Countdown Timer" is checked
Verify "Hide event name, date & location display" is unchecked, as this disables the countdown
Resolve scheduled tile visibility issues by checking the tile's settings:
Go to the "List" tab and edit the problematic tile
Verify the "When to display" setting has the correct date and time
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Troubleshooting
If Home tiles still don't appear correctly after applying these fixes, try clearing your browser cache or testing on a different browser. For persistent issues with scheduled tiles not appearing at the correct time, ensure your device's time zone settings match the event's configured time zone.
