How to apply consistent Home page styling across your organization
The Home page is the central hub for your Cadence events, and maintaining consistent styling across your organization creates a cohesive brand experience. Through the Home Menu's Settings tab, you can configure layout options, visual elements, and interactive features that can be standardized across multiple events to ensure brand consistency while still allowing for event-specific customization when needed.
When to use
When implementing brand guidelines across multiple events
When creating templates for different event types
When standardizing the user experience across your organization
When onboarding new event managers to maintain consistency
Before you start
You need Event Manager or Administrator permissions to modify Home page settings.
How to do it
Create a styling document outlining your organization's standard Home page settings.
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Home" in the left sidebar menu.
Select the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
Choose a standard column layout from the "Columns (Web Only)" dropdown:
Single Column: Displays tiles vertically in one column
Two Columns: Arranges tiles in two side-by-side columns
Single Row: Places tiles horizontally in one row
Two Rows: Organizes tiles in two horizontal rows
Column layout settings only affect the web version of your event, not the mobile app.
Select an alignment option from the "Alignment (Web Only)" dropdown:
Left Aligned: Positions tiles along the left side
Centered: Places tiles in the center of the page
Right Aligned: Aligns tiles along the right side
Configure visual elements by checking or unchecking these options:
Remove Home Tile Overlay: Removes the gray overlay on tiles
Display Scroll bar on Home Tiles: Shows a scroll bar for easier navigation
Removing the tile overlay may affect readability if your tile images have varying colors or contrast.
Standardize countdown timer settings if used across your events:
Check "Enable Countdown Timer"
Select either "use event start date" or "use custom date time"
Decide on header display by checking or unchecking "Hide event name, date & location display over the Home image."
Enable Live Video Tile if Symphony live streaming is part of your standard event setup.
This feature works best when Symphony is configured with embedded content, video material, or an RTMP stream.
Set consistent background opacity for the web Home screen:
Check "Gradient Slider Adjust Home Screen Opacity"
Use the slider to set a standard opacity percentage (default is 15%)
Click "Save" to apply your settings to this event.
Document these settings in your styling guide for future reference.
Share your styling guide with all event managers in your organization.
Apply the same settings to each event in your organization, referring to your styling guide.
Take screenshots of your settings for visual reference when configuring multiple events.
Review all events periodically to ensure settings remain consistent with your standards.
Troubleshooting
If your styling appears inconsistent across events despite using the same settings, check that each event is using the same color theme in Event Setup > Color Theme, as this can affect the appearance of Home page elements.
