How to Ensure Color Themes Display Properly Across Web, iOS, and Android Platforms

The Color Theme settings in Cadence allow you to customize the visual appearance of your event across all platforms. When properly configured, your selected color theme will display consistently on web browsers, iOS devices, and Android devices, creating a unified brand experience for your attendees.

When to use

  • When launching a new event across multiple platforms
  • When updating your event's branding
  • When troubleshooting inconsistent color display between platforms

How to do it

Navigate to the Admin site for your event.
Select Event Setup from the main navigation menu.
Click on Color Theme in the left sidebar menu.
Choose your preferred color theme option:
  • Default Color: Uses the color scheme set at the Account level
  • Custom Color: Applies a single color of your choice to all features
  • Advanced Colors: Allows different colors for each feature
Configure your selected theme option based on your choice in step 4.
For precise brand matching, enter specific hex codes (e.g., #FF5733) rather than using the visual color picker.
Click "Save" to apply your color theme settings.
Test your color theme on web browsers by opening your event's user-facing website in multiple browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox).
The URL typically follows this format:  https://my.eventcadence.com/events/[your-event-name]
Test on iOS devices by opening your event in the Cadence iOS app.
If possible, test on both iPhone and iPad to ensure proper display across different screen sizes.
Test on Android devices by opening your event in the Cadence Android app.
Check custom menu items to verify they display the correct colors.
Custom menu items inherit colors from their parent feature type. For example, a custom page will use the Custom Pages color.
Return to the Admin site to make any necessary adjustments if colors don't appear consistently across platforms.

Troubleshooting

If colors don't appear consistently across platforms:
Clear cache and cookies on web browsers and restart mobile apps.
Verify custom menu items have the correct feature type assigned in the Menu settings.
For Advanced Colors, ensure all features have colors explicitly assigned rather than relying on default values.
