The Menu preview feature in Cadence allows you to see how your navigation structure will appear to attendees before making changes live. This helps ensure your menu organization is intuitive and functions correctly across different devices. By previewing changes first, you can make adjustments to menu items, visibility settings, and organization without disrupting the live event experience.
When to use
Before finalizing menu structure changes
When testing different menu item arrangements
After adding or modifying custom menu items
When adjusting visibility settings for different user groups
Before you start
You must have Admin or Event Manager permissions to access the Menu section
Ensure you have created any custom pages you plan to link in your menu
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Event Setup" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Menu" from the submenu that appears.
Make your desired changes to the menu structure.
Changes made in this section won't be visible to attendees until you save them.
Click the "Preview" button in the upper right corner of the page.
You can also use the keyboard shortcut Alt+P (Windows) or Option+P (Mac) to quickly access the preview mode.
Review how your menu will appear to attendees in the preview window.
Test navigation by clicking through menu items to ensure they link correctly.
Check visibility settings by using the "View as" dropdown to simulate different user types.
The preview may not perfectly match mobile app display. Test critical changes on both web and mobile platforms.
Return to the editor by clicking "Exit Preview" when finished reviewing.
Make any necessary adjustments based on what you observed in the preview.
Click "Save" to publish your changes when you're satisfied with the preview.
Troubleshooting
If menu items aren't appearing in the preview as expected, verify that:
The visibility settings are correctly configured for the intended audience
All menu items are enabled (toggle switches are on)
Any custom pages referenced actually exist and are published
