Resolve Issues When Custom Labels Aren't Displaying Correctly
The Schedule Labels section in Cadence allows you to customize key terminology used throughout your event's schedule interface. When custom labels for Track, Location, or Speaker fields aren't displaying correctly in the Schedule Menu › Labels area, several common issues may be causing the problem. This guide will help you troubleshoot and resolve label display inconsistencies.
When to use
When custom labels aren't appearing on the web or mobile app
When labels appear in some places but not others
When labels revert to defaults unexpectedly
When changes don't persist after saving
Before you start
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify schedule labels. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
How to do it
Verify your custom label settings in the admin panel.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Schedule" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Labels" from the submenu that appears.
Confirm that the toggle switches for your custom labels are turned on.
If a toggle is off, the system will use the default label regardless of any text in the field.
Check that you've entered text in all enabled custom label fields.
Empty fields will cause the system to revert to default labels even if the toggle is on.
Click "Save" to ensure your changes are applied.
The Save button should briefly change to "Saved" to confirm your changes were processed.
Clear your browser cache and cookies if labels still don't appear correctly.
Preview your event to verify how labels appear to attendees.
Check the mobile app version if labels aren't appearing there.
Custom labels require the latest version of the Cadence app (v2.7.387 for iOS or v2.7.404 for Android).
Force close and restart the mobile app if labels still don't appear.
Verify that you're logged in with the same account used to make the label changes.
Troubleshooting
If custom labels still aren't displaying correctly after following these steps, try creating a new browser session in incognito/private mode to rule out cache-related issues. For persistent problems, custom labels may need to be re-applied by toggling them off, saving, then toggling them back on and saving again.
