Determine Which Labels Should Be Customized for Your Event

The Schedule Labels section in Cadence allows you to customize key terminology used throughout your event's schedule interface. Located in the Schedule Menu › Labels area, this feature helps create a more intuitive experience for attendees by replacing generic terms like "Track," "Location," and "Speaker" with terminology that better aligns with your event's specific context and audience expectations.

When to use

  • When creating events with specialized terminology needs
  • When standardizing navigation labels across multiple events
  • When making your event interface more intuitive for specific audiences
  • When localizing your event for different regions or languages

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify schedule labels. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Schedule" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Labels" from the submenu that appears.
Review your event's purpose and audience to determine which labels need customization.
Consider your attendees' familiarity with industry terminology when choosing custom labels.
Evaluate the "Track" label if your event uses specialized categories.
Common alternatives for "Track" include "Stream," "Path," "Category," or "Theme."
Consider the "Location" label if venue terminology is important to your event.
Common alternatives for "Location" include "Room," "Venue," "Space," or "Meeting Area."
Assess the "Speaker" label if presenter terminology is specific to your industry.
Common alternatives for "Speaker" include "Presenter," "Facilitator," "Instructor," or industry-specific terms like "Faculty" or "Performer."
Document your chosen terminology for future reference and consistency.
Toggle the switches for the labels you want to customize.
Enter your preferred terminology in each enabled field.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Custom labels will appear on web and mobile apps but will continue to show the original labels in the admin interface.

Troubleshooting

If your custom labels aren't appearing in the mobile app, ensure you're using the latest version of the Cadence app (v2.7.387 for iOS or v2.7.404 for Android) and try refreshing your event data.
