Optimize Schedule Settings for Different Device Types
The Schedule Settings page in Cadence allows you to configure how your event schedule appears and functions across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Through the Schedule Menu › Settings section, you can adjust display formats, enable features, and customize options to ensure your schedule provides an optimal experience regardless of the device your attendees use.
When to use
When planning events with attendees using various devices
When optimizing schedule display for mobile users
When configuring features that may display differently across platforms
When preparing for events with limited connectivity options
Before you start
You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to modify Schedule settings. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
How to do it
Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Schedule" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Settings" from the submenu that appears.
Choose "List View" from the "Schedule View" dropdown for mobile-optimized display.
List View loads faster on mobile devices and uses less data than Image List View, which is beneficial for attendees with limited connectivity.
Consider disabling "Enable Live Polling" for events with many mobile users on limited data plans.
Live Polling requires active data connections and may consume additional bandwidth.
Keep "Display People" enabled to show presenters on all devices.
Enable "Tracks" to allow filtering on mobile devices with limited screen space.
Tracks are especially valuable on mobile devices where scrolling through a long schedule can be cumbersome.
Consider enabling "Multiple Track Types" for additional filtering options on smaller screens.
Set a reasonable maximum for "Maximum Number of Elective Schedule Items" to prevent excessive scrolling on mobile.
Setting this number too high can create performance issues on older mobile devices.
Configure calendar sync date range with appropriate start and end dates.
Mobile calendar apps may handle date ranges differently than desktop applications.
Select appropriate check-in options based on your mobile device capabilities:
Enable Standard Attendee Check-in for all device types
Enable Badge Scan Check-in if your mobile devices have camera access
Consider disabling Signature Capture Check-in for events with many mobile users
Click "Save" to apply your settings changes.
Troubleshooting
If mobile users report slow schedule loading:
Switch to List View instead of Image List View
Reduce the number of visible tracks
Ensure your event's date range isn't excessively long
