How to create a customized navigation experience by selectively disabling menus

The Integrations menu in Cadence allows you to customize your event's navigation experience by selectively disabling the Events menu on web and mobile platforms. This feature is particularly useful when you want to simplify navigation for attendees who only need to access a single event, creating a more streamlined user experience.

When to use

  • When hosting standalone events where attendees don't need to navigate between multiple events
  • When creating a simplified user experience focused on a single event
  • When you want to reduce navigation options for specific platforms (web or mobile)
  • When your organization prefers a cleaner, more focused interface

Before you start

The Events menu disabling features are labeled as Non-public Beta and are only available to System Administrators or internal Cadence employees.

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence Admin account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Event Setup" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Integrations" from the submenu that appears.
Locate the "Disable Events Menu for Web (Non-public Beta)" checkbox in the settings panel.
Check the box to hide the Events menu from the web version of your event.
Disabling the Events menu will remove the ability for web users to navigate between multiple events. Only use this feature if attendees primarily interact with a single event.
Locate the "Disable Events Menu for Mobile (Non-public Beta)" checkbox if you also want to hide the menu in the mobile app.
Check the box to hide the Events menu from the mobile app version of your event.
You can disable the Events menu for either web or mobile independently, allowing for platform-specific navigation experiences.
Review your selections to ensure they align with your event navigation strategy.
Click "Save" at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.

Troubleshooting

If attendees report difficulty accessing your event after disabling the Events menu:
  • Provide direct links to your event in communications
  • Consider re-enabling the Events menu temporarily while developing alternative navigation solutions
  • Ensure attendees have clear instructions on how to access your event directly
