How to resolve common Weglot translation issues

The Integrations menu in Cadence allows you to enable multilingual support through Weglot translation services. When translations aren't working as expected, there are several common issues that can be quickly resolved. This guide will help you troubleshoot and fix Weglot translation problems to ensure your international attendees can access event content in their preferred languages.

When to use

  • When translations are not appearing on your event website
  • When language selector is missing from your event website
  • When translations appear incorrect or incomplete
  • When changes to translations are not being saved
You must have Admin or Event Manager permissions to troubleshoot Weglot translation issues.

How to do it

    Verify your Weglot integration is properly enabled.
    Navigate to your event dashboard in Cadence Admin.
    Click on "Event Setup" in the left sidebar menu.
    Select "Integrations" from the dropdown menu.
    Confirm the box next to "Enable Weglot language translations for the event website (App Translation not supported)" is checked.
    Check that your Weglot API key is entered correctly in the field.
The Weglot API key is required when enabling this feature. Without a valid key, the translation service will not function.
    Click "Save" to apply any changes you've made.
    Clear your browser cache and cookies.
    Visit your event website in an incognito/private browser window.
    Look for the language selector in the top-right corner of the website.
    Test different languages to verify translations are working.
If translations appear but seem incorrect, you can manually adjust them in your Weglot dashboard for better accuracy.

Troubleshooting

If translations still aren't working after following these steps:
  • Verify your Weglot account has sufficient word credits for translation
  • Ensure your API key hasn't expired (contact your Cadence representative for renewal)
  • Check that your event content doesn't contain special formatting that might interfere with translation
  • Confirm your Weglot subscription includes all the languages you need to support
Remember that Weglot only translates the website version of your event, not the mobile app.
