Preview How Custom Labels Appear to Attendees

The Schedule Labels section in Cadence allows you to customize key terminology used throughout your event's schedule interface. After configuring custom labels for Track, Location, or Speaker fields in the Schedule Menu › Labels area, you can preview how these changes will appear to attendees before making them live, ensuring your customizations create the intended experience.

When to use

  • After customizing schedule labels but before publishing your event
  • When testing different terminology options for your audience
  • When verifying label changes across different interface elements
  • When demonstrating custom labels to stakeholders before implementation

Before you start

You must have System Administrator or Event Manager permissions to preview custom labels. Any custom labels you've already configured should be saved before previewing.

How to do it

Log in to your Cadence account.
    Navigate to your event dashboard.
Click on "Schedule" in the left sidebar menu.
Select "Labels" from the submenu that appears.
Configure your custom labels by toggling the switches and entering your preferred terminology.
Make sure to save your label changes before previewing them.
Click "Save" to apply your label customizations.
    Return to your event dashboard.
Click on the "Preview" button in the top navigation bar.
The Preview mode shows your event exactly as attendees will see it.
Navigate to the Schedule section in the preview.
Verify that your custom labels appear correctly in:
  • Schedule item listings
  • Filter options
  • Detail views
  • Search functionality
Check how labels display on different screen sizes by resizing your browser window.
Some labels may truncate on mobile views if they're too long.
Exit preview mode by clicking the "Exit Preview" button at the top of the screen.
Make adjustments to your labels if needed and repeat the preview process.

Troubleshooting

If your custom labels aren't appearing in the preview, ensure you've saved your changes and refreshed the preview. If labels still don't appear correctly, try clearing your browser cache or using an incognito/private browsing window.
