Determine Which Notification Settings Are Appropriate for Your Event

The Notifications Settings page in Cadence allows you to customize how attendees receive alerts during your event. From this central location, you can configure Schedule Reminders, Live Feed notifications, and Messaging Channels alerts based on your event type, audience needs, and communication strategy to create an optimal attendee experience.

When to use

  • When planning your event communication strategy
  • When managing notification volume for different audience types
  • When coordinating multiple communication channels
  • When seeking to improve attendee engagement without causing notification fatigue

Before you start

You must have Admin or Event Manager permissions to modify notification settings.

How to do it

Navigate to your event dashboard in Cadence.
Select "Notifications" from the left sidebar menu.
Click the "Settings" tab at the top of the page.
Assess your event type and audience before configuring settings.
Different event types require different notification strategies. Large conferences may need earlier schedule reminders than small meetings.
Configure Schedule Reminders based on your venue size.
Choose longer times (25-60 minutes) for large venues where attendees need more travel time between sessions, and shorter times (5-15 minutes) for compact venues.
Decide on Live Feed notifications based on your social engagement goals.
Enabling Live Feed notifications for large events with active social posting can quickly lead to notification fatigue. Consider disabling for high-volume events.
Set Messaging Channels notifications according to your communication needs.
Private channel members always receive notifications regardless of this setting, so this only affects public channel notifications.
Review your combined settings to ensure they create a balanced notification experience.
Click "Save" at the bottom of the page to apply your strategy.
Create a test notification to verify your settings work as expected.

Troubleshooting

If attendees report not receiving notifications:
  • Verify they haven't disabled push notifications on their devices
  • Confirm the notification settings are properly saved in your event
  • Check that attendees have the latest version of the Cadence mobile app (v2.7.404 for Android or v2.7.393 for iOS)
